I'm back after almost three years of 'listening' (and working to make a living). It's time to start filling up the 2009 schedule.
I play solo gigs and also with some of my long time friends. I play Piano bars, coffee houses, parties and clubs and I like to fit my style to the venue. Sometimes I play original songs, sometimes I jazz up covers, especially rock or folk songs that I like the lyrics too, and sometimes I just play whatever fits the mood. I'm quite famous (or infamous depending on your point of view) for extended improvisations. Music is a raw talent for me, it is not always meant to be written down or copied down. Jazz is a musicians medium, allowing them to compose on the spot and also getting their instrument to make those sounds that are so original, no one has come up with a means to convey them in written form. There are also many more forms of Jazz than just the traditional. There's gypsy jazz, Celtic, blues, blue grass etc. Indian Classical music is based on the art of improvisation and even the western classical composers were known to improvise. My favorite is world fusion. Fusing the inspirations of many cultures into it's own unique work of art can only be viewed as pure American.

In addition to my concerts I love to frequent open mics and open jam sessions. You might see me at Stewarts Place in Snohomish on Wednesday nights sitting in with the jam band or at the Wired and Unplugged Coffee house in Snohomish playing the baby grand they have there.
